Wall-mounted units can solve room conditioning where a suspended ceiling is unavailable. We plan the discharge direction, service access, pipe route and condensate drainage around the occupied space.

Technical reference
- Family: FDK15–90 KXZE1 — Nominal cooling range 1.5–9.0 kW
- Example capacity: 1.5 / 1.7 kW — FDK15KXZE1 cooling / heating at ISO-T1 conditions
- Example casing: 290 × 870 × 230 mm — Height × width × depth for FDK15KXZE1
- Outdoor-air connection: None for the example unit — Room circulation does not replace required ventilation
Choose the wall around airflow
A convenient pipe entry is not always the best discharge position. We assess beds, desks, seating and the window load before agreeing a location. The air jet needs a clear path and should avoid persistent direct exposure to occupants. Curtains, wardrobes and future partitions can change that path.
Keep capacity and room use aligned
Oversizing can make control harder during low-load hours, while insufficient capacity shows up at the busiest or hottest time. We calculate the room’s sensible and latent loads and check the unit at the relevant design conditions. The smallest published capacity is useful only when it matches the actual room.
Drainage is part of the finished wall
Condensate must leave through an appropriate gradient or a selected pump arrangement. We coordinate the drain, insulated refrigerant pipes and wall penetration before finishing surfaces. Access for cleaning and inspection matters as much as concealing the services.
Confirm controller functions before ordering
Flap control is dependent on the controller. The catalogue notes that RCH-E3 does not provide flap-control functionality. We identify the compatible controller and required operating permissions in the proposal, so the installed control behaviour matches the intended room use.
Our selection checklist
- Check discharge direction against furniture
- Calculate design load and selected fan duty
- Provide a reliable condensate route
- Confirm controller and flap-control compatibility
Frequently asked questions
Does this unit bring fresh air into the room?
The example FDK unit has no outdoor-air connection. We assess the room’s ventilation requirement separately.
Are all controller functions interchangeable?
No. Controller compatibility and available functions must be checked against the exact indoor unit and selected control model.
