For offices and commercial spaces with growing loads and limited outdoor equipment space, we evaluate FDC224KXZPE1 and FDC280KXZPE1. The 2025 catalogue places these 8–10 HP models within the Micro KXZ group.

Technical reference
- Nominal cooling: 22.4 / 28.0 kW — FDC224KXZPE1 / FDC280KXZPE1 respectively
- Connected indoor units: Up to 8 — Subject to the capacity ratio and approved system combination
- Connection ratio: 50–120% — Total indoor nominal capacity divided by outdoor nominal capacity
- Supply: 3-phase · 380–415 V — 50 Hz; protection and cables follow the selected model’s electrical data
Eight rooms can have eight different loads
Two rooms of equal floor area may have different glazing, occupancy or operating hours. We calculate each room’s load, then examine the indoor-unit total and simultaneous use. Reaching the maximum connection ratio is not the design objective. We look for adequate output at busy periods and a balanced system at part load.
Allow room for air around the narrow casing
Both models have a 1505 × 970 × 370 mm casing. Air circulation and service clearances are additional. A facade grille or screen needs enough free area without drawing hot discharge air back into the unit. We assess the manufacturer’s clearances alongside compressor access and a future equipment replacement route.
Check more than the longest pipe
The catalogue gives 150 m total piping and a 120 m route to the most distant indoor unit for this group. Distance after the first branch, height differences and pipe-size conditions must also be met. Unnecessary detours affect capacity corrections and additional refrigerant. Survey measurements become part of the selection file.
Nominal output depends on the rating point
The MHI nominal examples use ISO-T1 conditions: cooling with indoor air at 27°C dry bulb / 19°C wet bulb and outdoor air at 35°C; heating with indoor air at 20°C and outdoor air at 7°C dry bulb / 6°C wet bulb. We apply outdoor-temperature and installation corrections for the actual project.
Our selection checklist
- Identify the exact FDC224 or FDC280 model
- Check three-phase supply and protection
- Verify indoor-unit count and capacity ratio together
- Assess air circulation on the facade, roof or balcony
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same equipment as 4–6 HP Micro KXZ?
No. Supply, capacity, connection ratios and piping conditions differ. Our proposal identifies the full model code as well as the family name.
Is 28 kW enough information to select a system?
No. We also check simultaneous room demand, design outdoor temperature and the capacity corrections caused by the refrigerant route.
